Engr. Amalate Ann Jonathan-Obuebite PhD, FNSE FNIPetE

Engr. Dr. Amalate Ann-Jonathan Obuebite is a renowned petroleum engineer and the Sub-Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State. She's a dedicated educator, researcher, and STEM advocate with over 15 years of experience. Her academic credentials include a masters in Petroleum Engineering, two PhDs in Petroleum & Gas Engineering, and Energy Economics from the University of Port Harcourt. Dr. Obuebite's research focuses on sustainable energy solutions, green nanocomposites, and agro-waste conversion. She's authored 35 publications, presented papers globally, and holds a patent on natural products for oil recovery. A recipient of the 2025 Engineering Educator Award from the Society of Women Engineers, Dr. Obuebite's passion for teaching and research has earned her top recognition in her field. Dr. Obuebite is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a respected fellow of several professional bodies, including Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers (NIPetE), Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) and SPE. As the Chairman of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) Bayelsa Chapter, she champions engineering education and female inclusion, initiating programs like STEM sensitization, scholarships and software training for members. She's happily married with three children and enjoys singing, reading, and badminton.
